The third most populous and busy city is Bengaluru, which also referred as “IT capital of India”. The city is well known for its innovation, the recent enhancement in the city is using Helicopters as call-taxi service. As the city is finding very difficult to travel from International Airport to the places across the city, which takes about two and half hours nearly while traveling through cars or other motor vehicles. In order to overcome this Heli-taxi which takes only 15 minutes, is warmly welcomed by the Busy city Bengaluru. This is an app-based taxi service which was announced by Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation Jayant Sinha in August 2017. This is a great effort took by the city in order to reduce the time taken to travel the city from International Airport. As it was informed earlier, the successful launch of Heli-taxi is done and the first round trips have been taken successfully.

About Heli-taxi:

The Heli-taxi service can be availed by booking the seat through the application “Heli-Taxii”. It can ferry about the maximum of six passengers in a trip. The revised fare for per person is Rs.4,130 including GST. The service is being offered by KIA in partnership with Thumby Aviation Pvt Ltd. The KIA has taken the responsibility for the pick-up and drop of passengers to the special arrival and departure lounge in KIA premises.

Heli-taxi has two shifts during peak business hours that is from 6.30 to 9.30 am and from 3.00 to 6.15 pm. As of now, the service is available only between Bengaluru airport and Electronic City. The service provider also added based upon the demand for service they would increase the Helicopter.

Additionally, the company has planned to extend the Heli-taxi service in the tourist place like Chikkamagaluru and Coorg as well. In nearer future, we could find Bengaluru is going to be surrounding of Heli-taxi.
