2018 Winter Paralympics – Today’s special
The 12th Paralympic Winter Games is commonly known as the 2018 PyeongChang Paralympics, as it is scheduled to be held on PyeongChang.
As this is an International event, Google doodle today celebrates the kick-start of 2018 PyeongChang Paralympics.
In 2018 Winter Paralympics, about 570 athletes from 48 different nations are going to compete in 80 medal events across six Winter Paralympic sports. The 6 Winter Paralympic sports are alpine skiing, biathlon, cross-country skiing, ice sledge hockey, snowboarding, and wheelchair curling.
The U.S sending the largest delegation of 68 athletes. While Canada sending 52 athletes with them.
The 2018 Winter Paralympics will be inaugurated by three nations like North Korea, Georgia, and Tajikistan. As it is the first time, North Korea and Georgia sends two athletes each and Tajikistan turns up with their first athlete.
Despite’s the disqualification of Russia to participate in 2018 Olympics and Paralympics. Russia athletes are participating as Neutral Paralympic Athletes with 30 delegations.
Like in the Olympics, the opening and closing ceremonies and snow sports will happen PyeongChang. Alpine skiing will go on in Jeongseon, and all ice sports are head to the coastal city of Gangneung.
